Chuck and Sue emphasize the importance of the planning process in developing effective grant proposals. "Grantwriting" is not simply clear writing and a set of magic words. Grantmakers are not simply interested in "good proposals," they are looking for well-planned responses to important community needs. Planning comes first, then writing.
